Dairyair logos and labels

A series of logos for cheese, milk/cream/yogurt, ice cream with both milk and goat milk.

Boxed Bakes Logos and Labels

Logos for Boxed Bakes. The series of graphic circles represent flavor stickers.

Here are logs and labels for the fresh baked breads section. I went with a different logo than the cupcake logo because breads are a different aspect of baked goods. I wanted to convey a more natural wholesome feel rather than a sugery sweet feel of baked goods.

Pillbox Pharmacy Logo and label

I never actually named my Pharmacy adjacent to my dry goods store... it is now called Pillbox Pharmacy. I tried to keep the box theme going in all of the names of my stores because I thought it complimented the containers well.

Here's the logo:
And here's the label for the pill bottles:

Chop'n'Slice Deli and Fine Meats labels and papers

Butcher Paper: the store logo repeated on a white background. Logo is enlarged below.

Labels for meats: Text describing what the contents are will be placed between the two current lines of text.

focus: packaging design

I started to pin down the final ideas for my focus on packaging design. This is what I have come up with:

For Chop'n'Slice Deli and Meats:
  • butcher paper
  • labels according to what type of meat (beef, pork, poultry, lamb)

For Dairyair Dairy Store:

  • packaging and labels for ice cream, cheese, yogurt, milk, cans

For Boxed Bakes Bakery:

  • packaging for cakes, cookies, candies, breads
  • labels

For The Crisper Bin Fresh Produce:

  • Produce labels
  • reusable bags

For The Shopping Basket Dry Goods store:

  • Reusable bags or baskets

For The Pillbox Pharmacy:

  • packaging and labels for prescriptions

Forms+Surfaces Fixtures

I'm using Forms+Surfaces outdoor fixtures in my project for their durability and industrial design, which I think compliments the industrial quality of my project.

Here are some pictures of fixtures I am using:

bike racks will be made of these three different models, I think they best represent the organic shapes of the plant life they will be adjacent to:

Hardware for doors:

Outdoor trash recepticles: An emphasis on recycling is present.

Awesome bench inspired by a bridge/OVERPASS!

Great outdoor seating, has a softer industrial feel which I think will work nicely within the hard-edged container spaces.

This is the "modern bistro" seating I am referring to for my space adjacent to the deli and dairy. They do not offer umbrellas through this company, so I chose a black suncloth type textured umbrella in my model.

These chairs are extremely durable and come in custom colors- I would like to go with white to keep it a clean look, but I know in reality it would be hard to keep white chairs clean, any thoughts?

Dairy and Deli

A close-up perspective of the deli and dairy stores.

Close-up of the deli store, "Chop'n'slice". The back of house area will not be open like the dairy store because I figured people wouldn't want to see meats being sliced! This is an in-and-out space, meaning I don't want people to linger. I am having a prepared sandwich case right at the entrance for grab-n-go eats, where people can then move outside to the modern bistro area.

The dairy store, "Dairyair". The layout of this space allows people to sit and enjoy their purchases, such as ice cream, which you might want to eat right away. Much like the bakery setup, this won't be a space to go in and out quickly, I want the customers to linger a little longer and enjoy the space, so more attention to detail was taken.

Changes to the site, landscaping ideas

The site has changed dramatically and has been developed to create an outdoor space that can accomodate many different types of functions. Trying to give some interest, I gradually stepped down the right side of the site to six 20' shipping containers which can be used as a "farmer's market" space on the weekends to vendors who are smaller and don't want to have a full-time business.

Here's a close-up shot of that area. It's adjacent to the driveway that accesses the underground storage containers. I felt these containers would also serve as a visual block for this part of the site... delivery areas typically aren't seen and are behind buildings.

This is a shot from the open air seating area that is adjacent to the "farmer's market" area. I wanted to mimic/accentuate the staggered effect I created with the layout of my shipping containers, and I felt this would acheive that. it creates a really interesting space where people can gather in a shaded space since there are no trees in this part of the site.

This is a close-up of the courtyard space that I created. Again, I'm trying to accentuate the staggered effect I created with my container layout, so I created a modern, sort of minimalist site that was inspired by the area in front of the Shaw Center in downtown Baton Rouge. The fountains will not only serve as visual interest, but I want them to be able to tilt at night to water the adjacent landscaping. You can also see the start of bike parking.

Here's a close-up of another seating area adjacent to the deli and dairy store. The 40' container you see in the background is where I am proposing public restrooms to be housed. The idea behind this space is to create a modern bistro setting, but it definitely needs further development.
